Passenger-Filled Bus Plunges Into River Along Lagos-Ore Expressway, Many Feared Dead

An unspecified number of passengers were feared dead on Thursday when an 18-seater commercial bus plunged into the Arun River at Ogere, near Ijebu Ode in Ogun.

Babcock University Teaching Hospital Carries Out Its First Heart Surgery

 Doctors at the Babcock University Teaching Hospital, yesterday carried out their first heart surgery at it was successful. The patient, a 34-year old woman was operated upon yesterday at the varsity’s hospital with other 15 critical care personnel in the operating theatre to provide different required services. They included perfussionists, cardiac operations nurses, internists and anesthesiologists.

The operation lasted for 6 hours. According to the doctors, that will kick start heart surgeries in the varsity’s hospital, noting that some surgeries will also take place today and others on the waiting list will also get subsequent dates for their surgeries.

Lastma officials working selflessly

A Friend shared this and said early this morning at a checkpoint very close to bonny camp, heading towards Ahmadu Bello, He saw some Lastma officials working selflessly to try and find a solution to the bad roads by sand-filling it. This was done in their uniforms. Aww! Very nice of them.

Senate postpones Rotimi Amaechi's ministerial screening

The Senate has deferred the screening of ministerial nominee, former governor of Rivers state Rotimi Amaechi to tomorrow Thursday October 15th. The Senate said the postponement is due to the inability of its Committee on Ethics, Privileges and Public Petitions to meet and subsequently submit its report on the petition against Amaechi.
