Manchester United Board Express ‘Regret’ Over Sanchez Signing

Manchester United board members met with rival Premier League executives last week and privately confessed to regretting signing Alexis Sanchez, according to Metro UK report.

The Chilean moved to Old Trafford in a straight swap with Arsenal for Henrikh Mkhitaryan in January, and was handed a mammoth contract that makes him the highest-paid player in the Premier League.

However, Sanchez has struggled to show he is deserving of such a lucrative salary in his seven appearances for the club so far, scoring just one goal. And now Spanish publication, El Pais claim that United executives expressed ‘regret’ over the signing of Sanchez during a dinner party in London.

Club officials were in the capital to participate in the auction of Premier League television rights, and they were scathing in their assessment of Mourinho’s swoop for Sanchez.

As well as failing to deliver on the pitch, the club feel that their outlay – which included a massive signing-on fee, agents fees and the loss of Mkhitaryan – could have been reduced had they waited until the summer.

Sanchez would have cost nothing then, though there would have been more competition for a player chased by Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola.

Secondly, Sanchez’s arrival broke the wage structure that the club had previously stuck to rigidly and caused tension within the dressing room, which has been difficult to contain.

United officials also feel that Mourinho’s approach to the market is too short term and cannot generate profit, and the Portuguese coach will need his January recruit to start delivering soon or even more questions will be asked.

Breaking News: Mysterious Fish Swallows N52 Million SEEDC Fund In Abia State

The 52 million naira which was meant for the South East Entrepreneurship Development Centre(SEEDC) contract job and renovation of Women Development Centre has been swallowed by a mysterious fish.

Igbere Tv gathered that the contract was given to Phrenemos Int Ltd and was supervised by the current Abia State SSG, Dr. Eme Okoro who is very close to Governor Okezie Ikpeazu.

It was reported that before now there had been news of the SSG mismanagement of financial transactions & requests for kickbacks from contractors but this shocking revelation was the last straw which broke the camel’s back as a mysterious fish has been alleged to have swallowed the whole obey meant for the job.

Upon investigations, it was gathered that the SSG who was instructed by Gov. Okezie Ikpeazu to oversee the job told the MD of Phrenemos Int Ltd to open a UBA account with one Glory Emucha in the pretence that UBA is the bank Abia State government is dealing with, not knowing the reason is for access into his account.

Weeks later, the MD of Phrenemos Intl Ltd, Engr Emma Uche Adimoha approached UBA to know the status of his account in respect of the contract payment and discovered the unbelievable.

Adimoha was told that a mysterious fish has swallowed the whole money.

He discovered that N2m was paid in to the account but was swallowed by the fish without his knowledge, meanwhile jealous had started using his personal funds in facilitating the project.

He also discovered that a financial project report was sentvtl the governor detailing that over N15million that was released has been used for the project.

This simply means that the government actually released N15million for the project but N2m was deposited into Phrenemos Int Ltd’s account which was withdrawn without his concentrate and the remaining diverted.

The DSS already made some arrests in connection to the fraudulent activities and Gov Okezie’s government is already gathering bad image based on fraud issues.

It may be recalled that within the country N36m was reportedly swallowed by a snake in JAMB office and a monkey also allegedly swallowed public funds only few weeks ago.

Justice Mohammed A. Danjuma, (JCA) and Affirmed the Judgment of the High Court, which was delivered by Hon. Justice B.F Adeyeye.
Furthermore, while the appeal was pending, the appellants in connivance with the immediate past government of Ondo State at the eve of his departure from office, he appointed One Prince Sunday Isaac Ajimoh as the Alale of Akungba without waiting for the outcome of the appeal, in which we all know this act as an opprobrium to the Judiciary Body and also A contempt of Court considering Judgment Order number five (5).

Enugu State Increases Corpers Allowance To N30,000 & N20,000 For Doctors, Others

Enugu State Government has announced an increase in the allowance for National Youth Service Corps ( NYSC ) members serving in primary healthcare facilities in rural areas in the state.

The Commissioner for Information, Mr Ogbuagu Anikwe, announced this in Enugu on Wednesday while briefing newsmen on the outcome of the State Executive Council meeting.

Anikwe said that medical doctors serving in hospitals in rural areas would henceforth receive N30, 000 monthly from the state government as against N3, 800 being given to them currently.

Similarly, he said, pharmacists, nurses, radiographers, laboratory scientists and statisticians would receive a monthly stipend of N20, 000.

He announced that the government also planned to review the service condition and welfare of another set of corps members in the state.

The commissioner explained that the increase in allowances of the corps members serving in health facilities was to further ensure that health services were taken close to rural dwellers.

“The government has approved that each corps member selected to work as a medical doctor in a government hospital in the rural areas will get a monthly stipend of N30, 000.

“All of these will cost the government extra N31.2 million per annum but it is an expense that is worth it. It is to ensure that health facilities are available at the doorsteps of our people,” he said.

Anikwe said that the government noted the challenges of getting medical personnel to work health facilities in rural communities and decided on the incentive.

According to him, the council decided that one sure way to solve the problem is to get health personnel from the NYSC who will be encouraged with an increased stipend.

The commissioner said that the state government had invested much in rural communities and would want such facilities to have direct impact on the inhabitants.

“Before now, Enugu had a peculiar problem because the state was paying a certain amount as allowance and it led to an influx of youth corps members from all over the country, wanting to serve here.

“It then became impossible for the state government to continue to sustain that stipend because we are not out of the woods yet.

“So, we are not unmindful of what to do for corps members but everything we are doing, we check our purse.

“I am sure that as the finances of the state government improve, we will come to a point where everybody is given an allowance that enables them cope with the condition of life in the country,” he said.

Anikwe said that the government was first looking at very critical sectors, adding that others would follow soon.

He said that the governor, Mr Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, was passionate about making residents of the state competitive and healthy “and that is why his economic blueprint traversed the entire state”.

Also, Commissioner for Works, Mr Greg Nnaji, said that the state government had approved the renovation and upgrade of eight district hospitals across the state.

Nnaji said that the gesture was to reduce the pressure on secondary health facilities in the state and to ensure that residents did not have to travel to the state capital for medical attention.

He said that such hospitals and clinics would now wear new looks while modern health equipment would be installed in them.

All youth corps members posted to rural communities of the state are paid a monthly stipend of N3, 800 each.
