Father In Prison For Raping His 3 Young Daughters In Lagos

For raping his three young daughters, a 48-year-old man, Micheal Ogbar, has been remanded in the Kirikiri Prison by an Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court, News Agency of Nigeria reports.

Ogbar was ordered remanded in prison custody by the Chief Magistrate, Tajudeen Elias, who refused to take his plea when the case was brought before him.
Elias said the court had no jurisdiction over the case and therefore transferred the matter to the Apapa Magistrates’ Court.

The incestuous father who resides with his family at Oke-Ogba Street, Badagry, was arraigned on two-counts of defilement and rape.

The police prosecutor, Sergeant Rafael Donny, had told the court that the offences were committed between January and May at the accused’s residence, after Ogbar raped his two older daughters, aged 24 and 20, while also defiling the third daughter, who is 10-years-old.
Donny said the offences contravened sections 137 and 259 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.

Ondo Governor Mimiko Planning Mass Rally Against Buhari – APC Alleges

The Ondo state chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has said it has uncovered plans by the state Governor, Olusegun Mimiko to hold a mass rally against President Buhari.

The party said the Governor’s plan is to project the believe that people are not in support of the President.

Daily Post reports that the Ondo State APC Publicity Secretary, Omo’ba Abayomi Adesanya, issued a statement saying “N3,000 each has been earmarked for the over 5,000 youths and some imported students from the South-South region that are participating in the rally.

“It is unfortunate that while workers are on strike for the unpaid six months salaries, Mimiko is planning to spend another tax payers’ money on illegal rally.

“We are informed that Mimiko was moved to stage the protest because he is scared of the wind of anti-corruption war which is sweeping all corrupt individuals in the country.

“We know that Governor Mimiko is scared. Since his colleague in Ekiti state has been alleged to have link with the Dansukigate.

“Maybe the Governor has some questions to answer in the ongoing investigations into the $2.1bn arms deal (Dasukigate), in the anti corruption war going on in the country

“If Governor Mimiko has nothing to fear, there is no need for the plan rally against the Buhari’s anti corruption campaign.

“The Party is alerting members of the public, especially, security agencies to be alert and battle ready to combat these army of youths that the Governor is bringing to the state.”

The party also expressed disappointment over the Governor’s trip to United Kingdom (UK), despite his inability to resolve the ongoing workers’ strike.

Taraba Teachers Begin Indefinite Strike Over Non Payment Of Salaries

Teachers in Taraba State will tomorrow begin an indefinite strike over unpaid salaries for the past three months.

The Taraba State wing of the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT) has asked its members to stop going to classes pending when the state Government will dance to their tune.

They also want the government to stop “illegal deductions” noticed during the payment of workers salaries in recent past.

Lagos State Bans ‘Omo Onile’, Says Defaulters Will Be Heavily Punished

Lagos State government has yesterday, June 27, 2016, warned that it is set to visit the activities of land grabbers, also known as Omo-onile, in the state with full wrath of the law.

The warning was delivered by the government through the state Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr Adeniji Kazeem who said the state is ready to apply the full wrath of the law on anybody caught forcibly taking another person’s land in the state.

Inaugurating a five-man Special Task Force to curb the criminal activities of land grabbers, the government said it will henceforth enforce the state government rights over land in Lagos and to also work with all security agencies to implement state government and private property rights in the state.

The terms of reference of the committee, include: “to reduce to a barest minimum the activities of persons or corporate entities who use force and intimidation to dispossess or prevent any person or entity from acquiring legitimate interest and possession of property acquired through state government or private transactions.

Beside the committee is: “to coordinate the efforts of the various agencies of government charged with enforcing the state government rights over land in Lagos and to work with all security agencies to ensure enforcement of state government and private property rights in Lagos State”.

Kazeem explained that the state government’s decision to set up the task force is in realisation that in recent years, “the land grabbers have caused havoc and unrest in different parts of the state by dispossessing legitimate land owners of their properties, thereby stifling commercial activities in the state.

“It is therefore important that the state government not only identifies the effects of the problems being perpetrated by these unscrupulous elements on commercial activities and peace of the citizenry but also find lasting solutions to the menace”, he noted.

Beside the commissioner said the task force “was to protect investors and maintain law and order” adding, “this by implication will encourage the verification of legal claims through litigation rather than resorting to violence”.

He said that the State Assembly is about passing a law that will exclusively deal with the activities of the land grabbers and prescribe appropriate stiff penalty for offenders.

All Post-UTME Fees be Re Or Face Sanction, FG Warns Universities

The Minister of Education, Malam Adamu Adamu has directed all tertiary institutions that have conducted post-UTME examination for the 2016/2017 academic session to immediately refund the money or face sanctions.

Malam Adamu Adamu made this position known on Monday, in a press statement issued by Deputy Director Press and Public Relations, Ben Bem Goong.

The statement reiterated the Ministry’s position that post-UTME examinations have been cancelled with immediate effect and no institution should conduct such examinations.

It noted that students who have already been offered admission by JAMB may be screened by the institutions but this must not involve the conduct of any other entry examination.

The minister also stressed that it is unnecessary to subject students to further examinations when they have been offered examinations by JAMB since they will still have to go through between eight or 12-semester examinations throughout their four to six years study in the institutions.

It stated: “Those who have already advertised for the conduct of the Post-UTME under any guise should stop the exercise immediately as any university caught conducting Post-UTME will face appropriate sanctions. If any tertiary Institution has already conducted Post-UTME, such an exercise stands annulled and money taken from such candidates must be refunded immediately.”

Speaking on secondary school leavers who are seeking admission into the tertiary institutions, the minister said, subjecting them to too many examinations all in one year, is traumatic, exploitative and absolutely unnecessary.

It will be recalled that the directive to stop the post-UTME examinations was given by the minister nearly a month ago and the Registrar of JAMB, Prof. Dibu Ojerinde, had early predicted that post-UTME would stop following the introduction of the CBT examination mode.

The Sacrifice of Success

Many people like to be called successful man or woman, even with clear indication human being like and want to associate themselves with successful people. Who does not like good things? Everyone wants to enjoy but does not sacrifice anything. Success is not built a day, it is a product of long perseverance, endurance, challenges and other difficult moments.
As one of my friends does say, at the market of success there are no bargaining, you must pay for the price. Never ask for a discount in that market, no book me down, no credit, kindly pay the full the price in order for you to enjoy that commodity called SUCCESS.

To succeed, there are many costs and sacrifices that person would make. The following are just few of the cost or what you will experience when you are on course for the success trip.

=> LATE NIGHTS AND EARLY MORNINGS:
Laziness is not an attribute for any being who seeks the gateway of success. A success seeker goes late on bed and wakes up early in the morning to continue the quest.

=> LOST OF ASSOCIATES AND VERY FEW FRIENDS:
In the course of pursuing of success, do not be dissapointed because you will lose some friends and it will only remain few friends that will support you.

=> YOU FEEL ALONE:
Most of the times you feel alone, do not afraid at all, that is the time to gear up and follow up the right cause. It is just a matter of time when you succeed, you will see people surround you. There are many things you will sacrifice to attain that height, you will be single unless you are lucky enough to find someone who understands your lifestyle and especially when people will want you to do good but never better than them.

Alleged N4.7bn Fraud: EFCC Arrests Gov. Fayose’s a\Aide, Abiodun Agbele…Fayose Responds!

An aide of Governor Ayo Fayose of Ekiti state, Abiodun Agbele has been arrested by the EFCC over allegations of aiding and abetting Fayose to launder part of the N4.7 billion he received from the Office of the former National Security Officer, Sambo Dasuki in June 2014. EFCC is accusing Agbele of receiving N4.7 billion from former Minister of state for Defence, Musiliu Obankoro, and handing it over to Fayose. Agbele was arrested in Lagos last night and is being detained at the Lagos office of the antigraft agency. Read Fayose’s statement on the matter after the cut…

Our attention has been drawn to the arrest of Mr Abiodun Agbele by the EFCC and we wish to say that we encourage the EFCC to carry out its investigations without politics as it is being done now. It must be pointed out that at no time was Mr Abiodun Agbele invited by the EFCC, and if he had been invited, he would have honoured the invitation. Therefore, there is nothing to celebrate in his arrest if it is not political.

As already pointed out, Governor Ayodele Fayose does not have anything to do with any fund from the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA). He has stated how his election was funded and Zenith Bank that he said funded his election has not denied doing so.

Also, the person said to have been arrested is an adult and will defend himself when the time comes. Subjecting him to media trial as EFCC has been doing since the inception of this government will only give our adversaries momentary sense of joy.

We await reports of EFCC investigations and we hope that the anti-corruption agency will be civil enough to allow an open and transparent trial in competent court of law and not media trial just to get at Governor Fayose because of his uncompromising stance against the misrule of the APC/Buhari led federal government.

Whatever stories being circulated by the EFCC and its political allies can at best be regarded as rumour as we were all in Nigeria when Nigerians were told that $700m cash was found in the House of Mrs Diezani Allison Madueke and the story turned out to be lie.

Finally, like we have maintained, Governor Fayose will remain resolute in making his opinions known on national issues and will not be intimidated.

Touch Not My Anointed!!! Church Founder Caught Raping 16-Yr-Old Girl In Car

A Senior Pastor and General Overseer of a church in Zimbabwe, Righteous Revival Ministries, Apostle Tawanda Chikeya, is in serious trouble after he was arrested for raping a 16-year-old member of his church in a parked car, H-Metro reports.
The 30-year-old Apostle Chikeya was arrested along with his younger brother, Tapiwa Chikeya, who is suspected to have lured the girl to his brother and locking the garage door and providing a blanket.

Apostle Chiekya and his brother, according to reports, are detained at Marimba Police Station and the case was reported under RRB 2827385.

The church founder was reported to have threatened the girl that he was a member of the Central Intelligence Organization and the girl said he made false prophecies to her, saying she had to undergo a bad luck spell if she refused to have s*x with him.

“Apostle Chikeya prophesied to me that I was going to meet misfortunes if I did not have prayers constantly with him. He invited me for prayers one of the days and took me to Lake Chivero where he asked to have s*x with me and I refused.

He told me that my virginity belongs to him that if I do not marry him, he foresees me getting married to a foreigner who would bring me bad luck.

After I mentioned his marriage, he said he was not satisfied with his wife since she was not a virgin like me when he married her. On the day in question, Apostle Chikeya asked me to come to his house and I found him with his brother Tapiwa.

Tapiwa locked the door from outside and left the room leaving me with Apostle Chikeya and after inquiring why they locked the door, Apostle Chikeya said we would use another door that leads to the garage.

It is at the garage where Apostle Chikeya raped me in his parked Honda Fit vehicle and he threatened me saying God would punish me if I reported the case to the police.

He went on to say that he is a member of police criminal investigation department and is connected to lawyers if that case was to be brought before the courts of law,” the victim narrated to H-Metro.
The girl said she told her friend about the rape and the girl informed her parents, leading to the arrest of Apostle Chikeya.

Nigerian Soldiers, Police Fight Dirty: Exchange Gunfire Over Ramadan Rice And Semo

It was a chaotic show of shame at the Borno State Government House in Maiduguri on Thursday as soldiers and policemen engaged in gun battle over rice and semo meant for internally displaced persons to mark the Ramadan fast..

The government has since Monday distributed large amounts of rice and Semovita to poor residents.

On Thursday, thousands of people converged at the entrance of the government building in Maiduguri, forming an lengthy queue of men, women and the aged who hoped for either a 25kg bag of rice or Semovita, or both.

As the distribution started, police barred vehicles from accessing the venue, except those on special permission.

At about 11am, a Nigerian Army truck showed up, insisting on gaining access to the venue where rice and Semovita were being shared.

Suspecting that the soldiers were trying to help themselves to the handouts, police officers demanded they turn back immediately.

This led to an argument and an angry soldier allegedly opened fire, injuring a policeman in the leg, witnesses said.

The police responded and gunshots rent the air as thousands gathered scampered for safety.

It took the intervention of other senior security officers to arrest the situation from degenerating.

One of the army officers drafted to help control the crowd, identified only as Idris, a lieutenant, did not go free, as angry policemen who accused him of instigating the crisis, beat him up.

It took the intervention of the commander of the operation Lafiya Dole, Lucky Irabor, a Major General, was called in by the Borno State Attorney General, Kaka Shehu Lawan, to restore order, reports Premium Times

Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) Management Announces Indefinite Strike Over Workers Protest

The authorities of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife have shut down the institution indefinitely over continuous protests by some of its workers.

The Registrar of the university, Dotun Awoyemo confirmed this to our correspondent on the telephone on Tuesday.

According to him, the management has decided to shut down the university for the safety of students and staff.

He said:-

“We have shut down the university indefinitely pending the time that we will resolve issues with our workers – Non-academic Staff of University (NASU) and Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (SSANU).

“We have asked our newly admitted students to go home and postponed the resumption of old students indefinitely.”

It was gathered that old students of the OAU were expected to resume next week after a two-month break.

Recall that ‎workers of the OAU under the aegis of NASU and SSANU have intensified their protest against non-payment of allowances and alleged imposition of a Vice-Chancellor despite the ‘no work’, ‘no pay’ threat by the university’s authorities.

They vowed to stop the newly appointed VC from resuming office on Friday.

Our correspondent gathered that the protest intensified when the University’s Governing Council announced Prof. Ayobami Salam as the new VC.

Though the counsel to the university denied the appointment of a new VC at the Osogbo Federal High Court hearing last Friday afternoon, the Governing Council on Saturday officially announced Salami.

Fayose Is An Unchained Mad Dog – Mrs Aisha Buhari Reacts To Governor Fayose’s Allegations

Wife of the President Mrs Aisha Buhari has reacted to Ayo Fayose’s allegations.

The Ekiti State Governor alleged that Mrs Buhari was implicated in the Halliburton bribery scandal involving a U.S. Congressman, Williams Jefferson.

She reacted via her official Twitter account…
Earlier today, the Presidency debunked the claims, describing the allegations as ‘laughable’ and the Governor as a man “childishly obsessed with the desire to grab the headlines and insulting people at will because of his incurably boorish instincts”

The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, said the Federal Government would have ignored the allegations but decided to respond so innocent Nigerians will not be swayed by falsehood.

The Presidential spokesman also said Mrs Buhari had no direct or indirect connection with Congressman William Jefferson, the U.S. lawmaker who was convicted in 2009.

Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka Reveals Buhari’s Health Is In Critical Condition

Fiery cleric and the Spiritual Director, ‎Adoration Ministry, Enugu Nigeria, AMEN, Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka has disclosed of his recent vision concerning President Muhammadu Buhari’s ailment.

‎Mbaka, who made the revelation in one of his Adoration programmes, stated that several efforts he made to reach people close to Buhari over the vision had remained unsuccessful as they refused picking his calls.

DAILY POST recalls that before the 2015 presidential election, Mbaka had also complained of how he was denied access to former President Goodluck Jonathan.

The controversial priest later gave a New Year message, which was widely believed to have contributed to Jonathan’s defeat in the election.

On Buhari’s ailment, he declared that his chances of recovery may be slim but that with the prayer of the members of the congregation, he would receive healing.

He equally declared that there were some people who were not happy that Buhari was alive.

“Such people hate everything about the President”, he stated, while narrating the vision which he saw before the President’s present trip to London.

According to him, in the vision, the President was critically sick and was being flown abroad for treatment.

“His health was in a bad shape and he was asking that (Fr Mbaka) should pray for him. None among the people I have called, picked my calls.

“People think I speak with Buhari everyday. When people climb into power, they are dazed.

It is a long dream. Our job is to pray for him but there are things that he must do and there is no way to communicate it to him”, Fr. Mbaka said.

He, therefore, asked the congregation to stand up and lift their hands up as he began to pray for the health and healing of President Buhari.

The prayer went thus: “We call on Michael the arch angel, Uriel the archangel, Gabriel the archangel to carry you in their wings back to life.

They angels are bringing you back in their wings. In Psalm 79:11 the Lord restores those who have already being appointed to die. Are you the one that has been appointed to die? God himself will bring you back to life.

Remember His word that when the thief comes to steal, kill you and destroy you, I have come that you may have life and have it more abundantly. Have life now more abundantly in Jesus name Amen.

“We pray for our President and anyone that is suffering such a dangerous disease. We lift our healing hands for divine healing upon our president. Wherever he is, may he be healed in Jesus name Amen.

“The doctors in Nigeria are nursing fear that he may not survive but we have a healing God. His name is specialist in impossibilities. In Mathew 19:26, He can make the impossible, possible.

In Mark 10:27 He can make the impossible, possible. In Luke 1:37, He can make the impossible, possible. In Jeremiah 32:17, He can make the impossible, possible. In Job 42:2, He can do all things and no purpose of His can be thwarted. Hallelujah.

“We stretch our hands of healing upon our President and you that may be sick here. I take you as somebody who is as if to say he is dead already.

Have they said that you are dead and there is nothing that can be done in your situation? Have your kidney died? Have your liver died? Have your heart or any organ of your body been confirmed dead? Look at what happened in John 11:39.

When Jesus asked them to open the tomb of Lazarus, they told him that by now he must be smelling for he was dead for about four days now.

After all this, I heard Jesus talking in verse 43 telling Lazarus to come out. Let that thing that is dead come back to life in Jesus name Amen. Let your dead vision come back to life. Let your dead destiny come back to life. Let your dead passion come back to life in Jesus name Amen.

“Whatever is dead in your body should come back to life in Jesus name Amen. Your dead success, come back to life.

Your dead business, come back to life. Your dead vocation, come back to life. Your dead gifts come back to life. God will show you the path

Ritualists Murder 8-Month-Old Pregnant Woman In Kwara, Remove Foetus

A pregnant woman has been reportedly murdered and dismembered by suspected ritualists at Gboroko village via Alapa in Asa Local Government Area of Kwara State.

The Tribune Online gathered that the incident happened on Saturday around 4:30pm when the victim, identified as Roheemat Akata, with a 12-year-old daughter of her neighbour, were brutally murdered.

It was also gathered that the deceased, a popular patent medicine seller in the area, was reportedly going for business transaction in the neighbouring village when the incident occurred.

It was learnt that the woman was ambushed and later murdered, as it was also said that the corpse of Roheemat was dismembered and her eight months foetus was removed.

A reliable source, who declined mentioning her name, said a 12-year-old daughter of her neighbour who accompanied her to the village was also slaughtered along with the woman on the same spot.

The source said that the case had been reported at Alapa Divisional Police Headquarters for further investigation, adding that remains of the deceased had been deposited at an undisclosed mortuary in Ilorin.

During a visit to Akata’s compound at Isale-Banni Alore area Ilorin, the family compound of the deceased, scores of sympathisers were seen in groups discussing about the incident while parents of the deceased were seen in mourning mood.

The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) for the Kwara state command, Ajayi Okasanmi, confirmed the incident, saying that no arrest had been made.

Fayose’s Aide Blasts Fayemi, Ex-Finance Commissioner

The Special Assistant on Public Communications and New Media to Governor Ayo Fayose of Ekiti State, Mr. Lere Olayinka, has blasted the immediate past Commissioner for Finance in the state, Dapo Kolawole, for saying the state government could afford to pay workers three months’ salary out of five months salary arrears and several months pension.

Mr. Kolawole, who was finance commissioner in the state between 2010 and 2014, was reacting to the indefinite strike embarked upon by the State chapter of the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, Trade Union Congress, TUC, and Joint Negotiating Council, JNC.

The former commissioner, who spoke with reporters in Abuja on Tuesday, cited “gross incompetence” and “lack of capacity” on the part of Governor Fayose for the lingering economic crisis in the state.

In his response to Kolawole on Thursday, Olayinka said the comment was a “feeble attempt to cover up the mismanagement of the State finances under the All Progressives Congress (APC) government of Dr Kayode Fayemi”.

“It is only in the world of miracle that a State that was plunged into debt and is losing over N1 billion to loan deductions monthly can sustain regular payment of salaries”, the governor’s media aide said.
According to Mr. Olayinka, the APC government of Mr. Fayemi received N46.4 billion from the Excess Crude Account, yet took a N25 billion bond and N31 billion commercial bank loan.

“In saner climes, the likes of Dapo Kolawole will be covering their faces in shame, having presided over the unprecedented looting of Ekiti State treasury and plunging of the State into unwarranted debt”, he said.

“The reality is if Ekiti was not plunged into debt by the Fayemi’s government, the State would have received N1, 920,027,383.96 for the month of April, 2016; N1, 860,919,359.32 in May, 2016; N2, 151,966,892.79 in March, 2016; N2, 324,677,903.78 in February, 2016; N2, 546,181,882.96 in January, 2016 and N2, 258,837,558.38 in December, 2015!

“Therefore, a man like Dapo Kolawole, who as Finance Commissioner ran the State economy aground should just cover his face in shame instead of running from one media house to another to justify the use of borrowed funds to plant flowers, construct uncompleted State Pavilion, Civic Centre, Governor’s Lodge among others irrelevant projects”, Mr. Olayinka said.

He further stated that under the former finance commissioner’s watch, the sum of N852, 936,713.92 was illegally withdrawn from the State Universal Education Board (SUBEB) account, making the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) to suspend Ekiti State from accessing any further FGN-UBE Intervention Fund.

“Above are just two aspects of the financial mismanagement superintended over by Dapo Kolawole and common sense demands that characters like him should just keep mum while the Government of Ayodele Fayose goes about finding solutions to the financial crises caused by the frivolous loans obtained by the Fayemi-led APC government”, he said.

The v*gina is filled with so many nerve endings that every single move will send pleasurable tingles up her spine, so, no need to rush. ‘Jackhammering’ away at her during missionary only helps you as men prefer rougher moves, but if you really want to make this about her, then go gently. Let her feel you from the tip down to the base and slowly push her over the edge.
(2) Lying-down Doggy
There are some perks to doggy style s*x but you can amplify them by making her lie down as you enter her as opposed to having her on her knees. She can lie on her stomach while you put a pillow or cloth underneath her pelvis for easier access. Suggest she keeps her legs closed so she can feel the friction completely. Orgasmic.

(3) Sit and Ride

You sit on the bed with your legs spread in front of you and she lowers herself on you, facing you. It is a variation of the Cowgirl s*x position except that you are sitting up. She does less of the work as you are in a prime position to grab her and move against her. It is also an intimate move as literally get to stay in an embrace. You can hold her, look in her eyes and whisper loving words that will caress her heart.

(4) Head Game Go down on her, simple!  or*l s*x can be the most selfless s*x act. This is your opportunity to make $ex completely about just her pleasure. All she needs to do is lie down, relax and enjoy. No hotter example of total pampering.

TASUED Students Embarks On A Protest

Students of Tai Solarin College of Education, TASCE, Omu Ijebu, on Wednesday gave Governor Ibikunle Amosun 48 hours ultimatum to attend to the problems facing the school or face total paralysis of activities at the State Secretariat, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.

The protesting students issued the ultimatum to the governor while addressing journalists at the NUJ Secretariat, Iwe Iroyin, Oke Ilewo, Abeokuta.

The protest was led by both the State Chairman of the Joint Campus Committee, JCC/NANS, Ogun State chapter, Comrade Dotun Opaleye, a.k.a. Zamora and the Students Union Government President of the school,Comrade Ibrahim Dairo, a.k.a. IB Pencil.

The students carried placards with various inscriptions. Some of them read: “Don’t let our parents Labour in vain”, “Amosun save TASCE from extinction”, “Pls, students are suffering in TASCE”, “Mr governor, come to our aid in TASCE”, among others.

Addressing newsmen, Zamora appealed to Governor Amosun to urgently attend to the requests of the TASCE students.

Zamora faulted government claim that it has not pay the outstanding salary of staff of TASCE due to overpopulation of staff and non teaching staff.

Governor Amosun had during the Democracy Day celebration in Abeokuta disclosed that the number of both staff and non teaching staff in TASCE was about 3,000 to 600 students.

Amosun called for investigation into the unwieldy staff list before he could address their unpaid salary.

But Zamora disputed the governor’s claim and accused him of being economical with the truth.

Zamora revealed that from their findings, the staff strength, both the teaching and non teaching staff, is around 385, contrary to the picture painted by the governor.

”What did the government want us to become in the nearest future. We, the students of Tai Solarin College of Education, have had a deep thought about these issues.

”Several letters have been written to the State Commissioner of Education, but nothing came out of it.

“The last straw that broke the camel’s back was on May 29, 2016 (Democracy Day), when His Excellency said the number of Staff (teaching and non teaching) are more than the student population; 3,000 workers to 600 students.

“The information about the school population has been corrected in the social media. The staff strength is about 385, less than 400 (both teaching and non teaching staff)”, he said.

In his own statement, the College SUG President, Ibrahim Dairo, called on the state government to restore qualitative education in the college, among others.

He also appealed for the prompt payment of the lecturers’ 13 months unpaid salary.

“Education is our right and not a privilege but the reverse is the case in Tai Solarin College of Education because we are not enjoying the dividends of education.

“We appeal to the state government to come to our aid as the matter is getting out of hand. We await quick solutions to our plight”, Dairo said.

Aregbesola Threatens To Expel Students Wearing Choir Robes and sutana To Schools

The Gov. Rauf Aregbesola of Osun on Tuesday said students who wore unauthorised cloths to any public schools in the State would be expelled henceforth.

Aregbesola stated this at the commissioning of St Micheal’s Government Middle School, Ibokun while reacting to different choir robes and garments wore to Baptist High School in Iwo by some Christian students.

He said it was wrong and criminal for a section or group of people to have directed some innocent students to wear choir robes to schools against court’s judgment.
He urged whoever was not satisfied with the judgment to ventilate the grievance through legitimate means rather than trying to cause crises by resorting to self help.
According to him,“Government is not interested in any religion as being speculated. My goal is to improve education standard in the state.’’

Deputy Governor Titilaoye Tomori, who doubles as the Commissioner for Education, said the inauguration of the school had confirmed their mission statement in education.
Tomori said no fewer than 20 elementary, 22 middle and 17 high schools had either been commissioned or were at final stages of commissioning.

State Chairman, Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Mr Felix Awofisayo urged people to pay tax so that government can do more.
Some students of Iwo Baptist High School wore church garments and robes to school on Tuesday in reaction to the court ruling allowing Muslim female students to wear veils (hijab) to schools.

No Light, No lectures: UNEC Students Damage Cars, Buildings During Protest

Students of the University of Nigeria, Enugu Campus, went on a rampage on Tuesday, damaging cars, buildings and other properties on campus due to poor power supply at the institution.

Lectures have been suspended in the university since June 6 after the Student Union Government declared that students would no longer attend classes until the school authorities resolve the power supply challenges.

The students, who locked up the lecture halls, held rallies to protest against the situation on Monday but the situation degenerated in the night, giving way to violence
.

It was learnt that there is hardly any power supply from the national grid in the hostels, while the generators provided by the school management currently supply power for just two hours each day.

When our correspondent visited the school on Tuesday, policemen were seen at strategic locations on the campus.

There was extensive damage to buildings in different parts of the campus – particularly the main hall and library.

Glass windows in the buildings were smashed, while some of the doors were forced open. The security office was also vandalised.

The female hostels and staff quarters were also affected with some some street lights and other infrastructure on campus also damaged by the rampaging students.

Our correspondent observed that the students, many of who wore masks, also vandalised some vehicles in the process.

The Public Relations Officer, UNEC, Mr. Gabriel Onah, informed our correspondent that about 12 vehicles belonging to the school were damaged.

No arrest has been recorded as of the time our correspondent visited the campus.

Officials of the SUG declined to comment on the incident, but some students, who did not wish to be named, explained that the management of the school refused to listen to their complaints.

Russia given ‘suspended’ ban from Euro 2016

Uefa on Tuesday ordered the “suspended disqualification” of Russia from the European Championship declaring they will be ordered out if there is more crowd trouble in a stadium at the tournament.

Russia were also fined €150,000 (N46M) over unrest in the stadium when Russia played England in Marseille on Saturday. Russia were found guilty by Europe’s governing body of crowd disturbances, racist chanting and throwing fireworks.

“This disqualification is suspended until the end of the tournament,” said the Uefa disciplinary commission decision.

“Such suspension will be lifted if incidents of a similar nature [crowd disturbances] happen inside the stadium at any of the remaining matches of the Russian team during the tournament,” it added.

Uefa stressed that its order only applied to trouble inside stadiums where the governing body is responsible for security.

Russia are playing Slovakia in Lille on Wednesday, sparking fears its fans will come into contact with English fans whose team is playing Wales in nearby Lens on Thursday.

After the 1-1 draw in Marseille, Russian fans crossed security barriers inside the Stade Velodrome and attacked England fans. Dozens of English supporters, including women and children, had to flee across security barriers to escape.

Uefa had already warned Russia and England that it could disqualify them if there was more trouble. But only Russia was charged over the conduct of its fans.
