Four persons have reportedly died in Ibara Housing Estate, Abeokuta, Ogun State, after taking a local liquor, popularly called ogogoro by name.
Our correspondent learnt that the seller of the liquor, Salako Taloju, who also worked as a gateman, was arrested by policemen from the Ibara Police Station on Tuesday.
Punch Metro learnt that Taloju was drunk at the time of arrest.
He was said to have told the police that the victims were residents of the area and he did not poison the liquor.
The deceased were noticed only as Baba Imeko, Baba Onwenue and Easy, while the fourth victim’s name had yet to be ascertained.
Our correspondent came together that three of the victims died on Monday when they all took the liquor, while the fourth victim died on Tuesday.
It was put together that Taloju, who had been selling the liquor for over 20 years, resisted arrest, claiming that he was not guilty in anyways.
Taloju, who spoke incoherently to journalists, said, “We were friends and we had been drinking together for a long time. I do not know why they have to accuse me now of killing them. I also took out of the liquor and nothing happened to me.”
When asked if he had reported the matter to his boss, Taloju said, “Do you want to kill me? My boss has warned me on several occasions not to drink again, but I refused.”
One of the neighbours, Mrs. Kemi Adepitan, confirmed that the victims died after consuming the liquor.
She said, “It is true that they died. Some other sympathisers and I paid a condolence visit to the house of one of the victims this morning.”
The acting Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, said the command did not receive any report of death.
He said “As far as we are concerned, it is a rumour. If any of their relatives comes and complains that their family members died, then, we can confirm it. We have not seen any corpse. Even though a suspect has been arrested, he is drunk and we cannot rely on his statement.”
Classixx’ long away Reach album, released in June, was appreciated foray into brightly lit dance music that may have the effect of lowering your body temperature by a few degrees.
The synths used throughout feel like cold steel which is perfect for the heatwave we’re experiencing in New York. But they turned the temperature right back up with the remix of “Whatever I Want” by Nigeria’s Young Jonn The Wicked Producer.
The talented artist has already worked with Wizkid, Olamide, and others. For this remix, Young Jonn speeds up the tempo and represents the strong percussion culture of Africa. T-Pain’s vocals are mostly untouched yet feel just at home as they did on the original. We can definitely see this remix being added to DJ playlists around the whole universe..

NDGJM (The Niger Delta Greenland Justice Mandate), a new militant group/set in the Niger Delta Area Of Nigeria, has blown up another pipeline in Delta state Nigeria.
Aldo Agbalaja, spokesman of the group, disclosed this in a statement, saying the pipeline belongs to the Nigerian Petroleum Development Company (NPDC) .
The attack comes one day after the group threatened to strike, based on the alleged decision of the federal government to concentrate on the Ijaw militants in its dialogue plans at the expense of other groups in the region.
“The central operations command of the Niger Delta hereby announces the commencement of demolition and evacuation of the uplands tagged ‘OPERATION ZERO’ to correct the wrongs that have afflicted our people for years, seek justice for the perpetually cheated and protect the identities of our people, who are co-owners of the wealth which Nigeria has forever misappropriated,” the group said.
“As a mark of our seriousness and to prove we are people of our words, at about 0200hours of today; Wednesday, August 10, 2016, operatives of the Niger Delta Greenland Justice Mandate brought down a MAJOR TRUNK/DELIVERY LINE from Isoko to the Eriemu Manifold in Urhobo, belonging to the NPDC/Shoreline resources.
“We would also want to use this medium to give a very strong warning to the operatives of the asset NPDC/SHORELINES not to commence repairs pending when they get signals from us otherwise the inevitable may occur to their personnel as we have earlier warned them to begin evacuating the uplands.
“This is just a glimpse of what is to come, there are several assets already penned down for destruction. This line of action has been made inevitable by an unjust system, which only responds to the violent, to the detriment of the peaceful and law abiding.”

Unlike most people who worry about earthly things, YBNL singer, Adekunle Gold, has revealed that his greatest fear is the thought of not making heaven.
The singer disclosed this in an interview with Tribune News’ Joan Omionawele, published on Saturday, July 30, 2016.
The ‘Sade’ crooner, who recently disclosed that he is not leaving YBNL, was asked about what his greatest concern is.
He said,
“Before now, my greatest fear used to be failure, till I learnt and thought that even if the worst thing happens, you will learn and get better and do something even better, so now, my greatest fear is not making heaven.”
He was however unable to express where he is a born-again Christian or not when his previous comment brought up the subject.
“I think born-again is relative, but yes, I am a Christian.”
